Ball Ball Ball

It seems like our lives are totally consumed with Bball right now. With both kids playing...its either practice or a game. They are really enjoying it though. Madelyn wasn't too crazy about playing in the heat this past wkend but she did fine. Jacob's team endured their first loss of the season. Wow! Teaching kids that its okay to lose is a great challenge. But by the end of the night...he was very proud of the way that his team played and the other one. I'm very proud of him. Jacob is growing up to be a very good guy...he has such a good heart and really does mean well. I'm so thankful to have a son such as him.

Blooms everywhere!

I will start off by saying that the weather has been absolutely beautiful! We couldn't ask for anything better. This, as I have said before, is one of my favorite times of the year. I LOVE planting flowers and working in the yard. I think I get this from my MOM...well I know I do:o) Yesterday while Jacob and Madelyn were in school, I took Logan and Baker (the only two daycare kids I had) to Lowes to pick out some new flowers to plant. After school Madi had softball practice so while she was there Jacob and I went to Walmart and bought a few more. (he picked all of the red ones...his favorite color) He and I went to DQ and enjoyed a milkshake together and then went to pick up Madi. They always insist that they help plant the flowers...which I LOVE! So we were in a rush b/c it was getting late, but we did accomplish a little. We still have tons to do....but its coming along. I'm looking forward to the warm days ahead to sit out and enjoy God's beauty!!!

A prayer for Stellan

I've been in prayer for baby Stellan last night and all day today. I feel like I know this family...but I don't. I read this blog EVERYDAY more than once. My heart goes out to them as they seek God for a miracle for their baby. I encourage you to click on the button on the right side of my page and read Stellan's story and begin to pray for him as well.

Another Woot Woot...please!

Okay...well we have started our season off on a good note. Jacob's first game was last night against Waverly. Jacob and his team did awesome! I'm really beating myself up for not starting Jacob in Sedley. He's learned so much in the last month.....more than he learned in 2 years on the "other" team. We are praising the Lord for Jacob's new coach....he is so good to those boys and he actually knows what he's talking about. Jacob is so relaxed....very stress free and that is so much more than I can say for the "other" team and the "other" coach! We beat Waverly last night 9-1. I wish I had taken more pictures of Jacob running. He slid two good times and I missed it with the camera b/c I was so into the game. O' well. We play Newsoms tomorrow so there will be more pics to come.

Can I get a WOOT WOOT???

Last night was Madelyn's first softball (scrimmage) game! She loved it! I'm getting so excited b/c I LOVED (lived and breathed) softball when I was young. I always thought that Madelyn was going to be a girly girl forever and we'd never see the day that she put a glove on her hand and went out to play in the dirt that's going to make her dirty:o) I've always said that I wouldn't push her into playing and I haven't. She came to me this year and said that she wanted to play. Travis is beside himself b/c he always wanted a little Tom Boy! She doesn't really know the game yet but is so eager to find out all the details. I was the same way when I was 8 and started to play. Is she following in my footsteps???? I don't know...we shall see.

My Redeemer Lives!

Me and Denny...long time ago

Yesterday was Easter. I'm just getting around to posting pictures of our great day. Jacob and Madelyn woke up early to run down stairs to see what they got in their Easter baskets. They don't believe in the Easter Bunny anymore but they were just as excited to see what I put together for them. After that we ate a big breakfast and then got ready for church. We all dressed in green this year. For some reason I love for us to match on Easter. Jacob and Madelyn looked great in their outfits, as always. We went to church and had a good service. After church we went to Janet and Jerry's for lunch. We had a delicious steak and all of the trimmings...yum yum. Then it was off to Sedley to come home and take a good nap, and we did just that. I thank my God for sending his only Son to the cross to die for us. I can just picture all of our sins nailed to the cross....wow, what He did for our sins to be forgiven! I'm including a couple of pictures of me and Denny on Easter when we were little. Wow...times flies!

Fab. Friday

We had a super day on Friday! Preparing for Easter, we made Easter hats, we colored Easter pictures, we dyed eggs and CJ brought her cute little bunnies for us to see. The kids enjoyed so much holding and petting the bunnies. (thanks CJ, Michelle and Tad) You might think I'm crazy to attempt to dye eggs with 6 kids and tye dye them at that, but it turned out great and they didn't make too much of a mess. Dyeing eggs has always been a tradition of mine ever since I was little. That is one thing my dad always made sure that we did. He would by several dozen eggs and several kits and we would go at it. (I miss my Deddy!! I hope he's looking down on us smiling!) I've always done it with Jacob and Madelyn as well. So fun to get it all over your hands and it doesn't come off so great:o)

Also I want to let you know that I will be creating another blog for my Daycare. This blog will become my "family" blog and I will make another one for the Daycare pictures. I hope to create it very soon and I will let you know when I do so. This way my family can enjoy pictures of Jacob and Madelyn along with Travis and Myself and skip all the children that they don't know if they choose to. :o)

We had a Easter Egg Hunt!

Today we went over to Dayna's and joined her daycare group in a Easter Egg Hunt and party. The kids had a great time. We let them paint a boiled egg and that happened to be a real experience. Some loved getting messy and a few just really did not want that paint on their hands. Baker showed his enthusiasm by throwing his hard boiled egg in the floor:o) The kids loved hunting for the eggs and running around the yard. Baker was a little confused but really enjoyed being outside "free." So then it was time for the party. The cupcakes were a hit...needless to say! Delicious!!!
